Top Gear USA has a long way to go to even be mentioned in the same breath as their counterparts from the UK, but as this new trailer of the show suggests, they’re off to a pretty good start.
Unlike the last trailer we saw of Adam Ferrara driving a ’76 Cadillac Deville through a “moonshine” run dirt course, this new trailer features the type of cars that we’re getting all excited about: three Lamborghinis!
Not only are they three Lambos, but their three special edition models, too. There’s the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, the Gallardo Valentino Balboni Edition, and the Murcielago SuperVeloce. That’s a lot of snorting bulls in a two-minute trailer.
More importantly though is that the three hosts – Ferrara, Tanner Foust, and Rutledge Wood – seem to be in their element behind the wheel of these Lamborghinis. Whereas they didn’t show a whole lot of testosterone in the last trailer, this one’s got them in fair amount of supply.
Like we said, they still have a long way to go before they can stack up against the iconic trio of Clarkson, May, and Hammond. But if they can have more supercars in their show and a little less giggling and high-fiving, then they should be in good shape.

Back in June a mystery Gallardo Spyder prototype was caught testing at Nurburgring. Now the car is testing again, only this time we know what it is. Check out the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera Spyder.
The prototype caught testing features the same wheels, diffuser, and rear bumper as the Superleggera model, but has a smaller rear wing. Its coupe brother is powered by a 5.2 liter V10 engine that delivers an incredible 570 hp. The result is a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in about 10.2 seconds later. Top speed goes up to 202 mph. Expect the roadster version to deliver the same performance, with most likely a lower top speed due to the aerodynamics of the fabric top.
The Superleggera is all about losing weight, so expect the roadster version to also focus on that same idea, but with a little extra for the addition of the top’s weight. However, total weight will be kept in the 3000 lbs area.

In a scene straight out of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Porsche 911 GT3 partake in a friendly race along the streets of downtown Sweden. The two-part video features the two supercars taking turns revving it up and blasting along the dark and desolate street.
But what makes this video a lot more interesting happens at the start of the second video where, in true law enforcing fashion, a police car shows up and starts chasing to the Lambo and Porsche. Unfortunately for the officers giving chase in God-knows-what vehicle, reality – or in this case, a massive dose of horsepower advantage – starts to kick in and the overwhelmed cop car gets lost in the two supercar’s collective dust.
We don’t know if the cop car thought that he could actually catch up with a Porsche or a Lamborghini, but hey, we certainly applaud the officers for the effort. It was just a losing battle from the get-go.

Looks like Mr. Balboni’s special-edition Gallardo is going to have an offspring of its own.
After already presenting its long-time test driver, Valentino Balboni, with his own special-edition Gallardo, reports are suggesting that the Sant’Agata-based automaker is already at work preparing a spyder version of the Lamborghini supercar with this recent spy video, courtesy of our friends over at Auto Motor und Sport, of the Gallardo romping it up at the Nurburgring. This little tasty offering serves as proof that this car is more than just a figment of our collective imaginations.
Lamborghini has not made any official announcements on the car so nothing is official yet on the spyder version of Valentino Balboni’s Gallardo LP550-2, although from what we’ve heard, it looks like the car could – at the very least – be headed to an auto show at the latter part of the year with a distinct possibility that it could end up being at the Paris Motor Show in October.
Until then, we’ll keep you posted on any updates surrounding this new special-edition raging bull.

The automotive industry has seen a massive shift this year. Two legendary supercar manufacturers have created two new amazing products that could change the way we think about the ultra-performance, super-expensive sports car and we will take them head to head in the ultimate competition.
In the left corner is the old workhorse, the Lamborghini Gallardo, but this isn’t the normal run of the mill version. This new model is the LP 570-4 Superleggera, a sort of midlife refresh for the venerable old performance car. Meanwhile, in the right corner, we have the new supercar from the legends of fast car manufacturing, the Ferrari 458 Italia. Unlike the Lamborghini, the Ferrari is all new, taking the place of the old 430.
One is an old veteran with a new outfit and some more power under the hood, while the other is an all-new machine from the Italian legends. This should be one great fight between two companies that have been competing for years and years.

It’s true that weddings are, without question, one of the most important days in every girl’s life. On the other hand, if you’re the groom, the only thing that concerns you on your wedding day is how big of a hole the entire festivity has put in your bank account. Of course, if money isn’t a question, then weddings can still be as memorable for the men as they make it out to be and you only need to look at this Chinese wedding to prove it. This particular wedding had quite an automotive entourage, featuring 12 - yes, you read that right - Lamborghinis, including three Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce, two Murcielago LP640, five Gallardo LP560-4, and one Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni Edition. And, yeah, there were also two Rolls Royce Phantoms in the mix, but they certainly look more like afterthoughts when lined up against all those those Lamborghinis. Whoever thought that day would come where a Phantom - two, no less - would be the featured marquee vehicle on a wedding?
But, apparently, that’s how this wedding rolls.

Spy photographers caught a new mysterious Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder testing at Nurburgring. And since we do not know exactly what it is, then we can only make assumptions. So, lets see. Lamborghini has a LP 570-4 Superleggera and a LP550-2 Valentino Balboni Edition, both provided in a coupe version. So, which one is about to get a spyder version?
The prototype caught testing features the same wheels, diffuser, and rear bumper as the Superleggera model, but has a smaller rear wing. There is also a front bumper similar to the one from the Valentino Balboni Edition. So, which one do you guys think it is?
The Gallardo LP 550-2 is powered by a 5.2 liter V10 engine that delivers 550 hp. With a weight of only 3042 lbs, the car sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and can hit a top speed of 199 mph. The LP570-4 Superleggera gets a 5.2 liter V10 engine with 570 hp. The result is a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, from 0 to 124 mph in only 10.2 seconds later, while top speed goes up to 202 mph.

You think a supercharged 750 horsepower Russian Porsche 997 Turbo SPI750 by Switzer Performace Innovation can hold its own against its supercar brethren in a good ol’ fashion drag race?
If you’re having trouble answering that question, you’re in luck because somebody’s going to answer it for you. That ’somebody’ - or some bodies - happens to be the folks from Dragtimes.info and the drag race-addicted members of GT-Board happen to have a number of supercars ready to meet the challenge that is the SWI-tuned Porsche 997 Turbo.
Lining up against the superpowered Stuttgart machine includes one of its cousins, a 9ff-tuned Porshce 911 GT2, a Lamborghini LP550-2 Valentino Balboni Edition, and a V10 engine-powered, 560 horsepower BMW M3 E30.
We’re not spoiling the results for any of you, but one thing that you guys can be absolutely certain of is that these cars are no lightweights by any stretch of the imagination. So you better gear yourself up for a slobberknocker of a race - or three.

In a market where reaching 5,000 supercars built is a milestone in itself, the Lamborghini Gallardo somehow has reached twice that number, rolling the 10,000th Gallardo off of the production line. By reaching 10,000 units built, the Gallardo becomes the most successful Lamborghini model in the company’s illustrious history.
Stephan Winkelmann, a Lamborghini top executive, commented on the unprecedented success of the Gallardo, saying that it’s a testament to the brand’s uncompromising style of Italian automotive craftsmanship. "The Lamborghini Gallardo has also played an exemplary role in defining and delivering our brand reputation into our worldwide markets," he adds. "The strength and presence of the Gallardo product has played a significant role in the growth and recognition of our brand."
Launched in 2003, the Gallardo became a household Lamborghini supercar model, spurning off-shoots with a number of different styles including, the Superleggera, the SE, the Nera, and, the most successful of all, the Spyder. Recently, Lamborghini has also paid tribute to its long-time test driver, Valentino Balboni, by building a special-edition Gallardo in his name, the LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni Edition.
And now, after seven years, and 10,000 models built later, the Gallardo remains strong as ever, further slamming home the point that the model is, without question, one of the most successful supercars to ever be produced.
Congratulations on the milestone, Lamborghini! And to the Chinese client who scooped up the Midas-colored, 10,000th Gallardo, you better take good care of your new ride, buddy. That’s no ordinary Gallardo you’ll be driving soon.

Let’s see. Which would you choose if you had to pick between a Ferrari 458 Italia and a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni?
Okay, we’ll provide some statistics to help out. The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a 4.5 Liter V8 engine equipped with a Ferrari flat crankshaft. It produces 570 HP at 9000 RPM which gives the future super car a power output of 127 HP/Liter. The Ferrari makes the 0 to 60 MPH sprint in just 3.4 seconds and won’t stop until it hits a top speed of 202 MPH.
Now, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni is powered by a 5.2 litre V10 engine that delivers 550 hp. It can travel from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and can hit a top speed of 199 mph.
So, 570 HP vs. 550 HP, two Italian cars. And the winner is?

We can only shudder at the thought of having a completely sexy 2009 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder LP560-4 get subjected to something like this. Unfortunately, not every owner knows what it takes to tame a raging bull and that wasn’t any more evident than the owner of this Gallardo Spyder who lost control of his supercar crashing it into two parked cars in Staten Island, New York.
The accident happened in the middle of a pretty bad storm, which leads credence to the age-old corollary that, unless you’re a Formula One driver, driving at insane speeds on a wet road is never a good idea.
And to make things worse for the owner of the Gallardo Spyder, he’s not only going to shell out money to have his ride fixed, but he’s also going to have to pick up the tab for the two cars he damaged as a result of his high-speed, reckless driving. Ouch.
