We’re talking about cars like the BMW M3 E92, and if it’s supercharged by tuning house like IND, then all the better.
Our friends from Teamspeed put one M3 E92 up to test in this particular video and by all accounts, this video shows exactly why burnouts can be so amazingly awesome.

BMW M3 E92 Compressor by Manhart Racing
In its standard version the BMW M3 develops a total of 420 hp. But as far as Manhart Racing is concerned, 420 horsepower just wouldn’t cut it. So they did what any self-respecting racing tuner would do: they bumped it up to 655 horsepower and they did so by following three stages of engine upgrades.
In the first stage, the tuner added a small compressor and a supercharging pressure of 0.35 bar and obtained an impressive 515 hp. In the second stage, they increased the pressure up to 0.50 bar and the total output to 585 hp. Finally, Manhart added a large compressor from ASA with a supercharging pressure of 0.67 bar and a titanium made exhaust system with 70 millimeter pipe diameter and two 200 cell race catalytic converters.
The result, as we’ve mentioned, is a stomach-churning 655 horsepower, a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.7 seconds, and the creme de la creme: a top speed of 217 mph.
Not content with the performance upgrades, Manhart Racing also gave the car’s interior a few modifications, including leather fittings in Alcantara/leather combination, performance seats, and an exclusive performance steering wheel with LED display which shows the temperature, transverse acceleration and ¼ mile times.
Press release after the jump.

BMW M3 by Avus Performance
The German tuners at Avus Performance have announced a new performance package for the BMW M3 that focuses on improving both the sports car’s appearance and aerodynamics as well as upping the track tuned 3 Series’s potential. The exterior gets upgraded with a more aggressive front end with larger air intakes and a carbon fiber front lip. A pair of lower hanging side skirts lead back to a carbon fiber rear diffuser to complete the ground effects package while the trunk is replaced with a more pronounced unit with molded ducktail spoiler with a carbon fiber edge.
Avus offers an assortment of wheels to complete the package; starting off with a staggered set of ADV 5.1 five spoke wheels measuring twenty inches in diameter and nine inches wide up front and ten and a half inches out back or the mesh ADV 7.1 rims available in matte finished like black, bronze and gunmetal. BMW M3 GTS sold out!
BMW’s Motorsport division has announced that every-single M3 GTS has found a owner, even if it was priced at €115.000. Deliveries will begin in May. However, BMW did not revealed how many units were produced.
BMW’s M division CEO, Kay Segler, said in a recent interview that he was surprised by the public’s reaction on the GTS. He and his team developed the lighter version M3 as a track-day car that can be driven on the public roads. However, demand exceeded all the expectation they had.
Thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber, the M3 GTS weights only 1,490kilos (190 less than a standard M3). And with 450 ponies under the hood, the GTS is faster than any M3 out there.

BMW M3 GTS sells out less than three months after its release
BMW’s new M3 GTS has only been in the market for close to three months yet somehow, all the available models have been wiped out of the dealerships. Yep, according to Dr. Kay Segler, the head of BMW’s M Division, the BMW M3 GTS has officially sold out.
Based on the BMW E92 M3, the track-based BMW M3 GTS attracted a lot of positive attention for being a car that lost a lot of weight – 190 kilos, to be exact – yet somehow, was also able to increase its production output to as much as 450 horsepower. In addition to that, the car’s capacity was also bumped up from the standard 4.0-liter V8 to a 4.4-liter variant, giving the M3 GTS more than enough power and speed that it became such a popular production-ready, track-based sports car that it sold faster than anyone expected.
As for those unfortunate ones that couldn’t get their hands on the M3 GTS, not all is lost – sort of. BMW is expected to release the first street-legal-M-racer sometime in the next year and while the company has yet to announce a specific number of models that are going to be sold, it figures to be another one of those first-come, first-served cars that the BMW M3 GTS ended up becoming.

Now that BMW has revealed the 2011 3-Series, the next logical step is to see the M3 version. But that you knew already! Now here comes the surprise: according to various sources the 2011 M3 will be available with an Competition Package (ZCP). What does this mean for you? That your M3 will get even closer to a GT2 model.
While there are no details on what the Competition Package will include, we remind you that in the past it featured larger wheels, brakes, and a host of other performance enhancements. This means we can expect better brakes and a lowered suspension, 19″ wheels, a sport exhaust system and an updated EDC Sport setting.

BMW M3 by Royal Muffler
For most of us, the BMW M3 is the ultimate sports car, needing no further enhancements outside of the factory walls in Regensburg, Germany. However the American tuners at Royal Muffler felt otherwise, and we are glad that they did, because the result can truly be considered exceptional. The California based tuner turned their attention to BMW’s V8 powered E92 M3 due to the factory tuned sports car’s standard capabilities right off the showroom floor, and while we are still waiting for the specific performance figures from the modified M3, the images of the two tone wide body BMW has simply left us speechless.

BMW M3 by Cargraphic
Celebrating their 20th anniversary as well as the BMW 3 Series convertible reaching the double decade mark, the German tuning firm Cargraphic is releasing a set of special edition 20 inch alloy wheels for the high revving V8 powered BMW M3 convertible. Cargraphic is offering the light weight three piece racing wheel with the classic mesh design and because BMW owners can be a bit more picky than other automotive enthusiasts, Cargraphic also offers the option of milling the wheel from a solid blank, a lengthy process that takes about an hour and a half per wheel and saves about five pounds at each corner over more traditional machining methods.

Police-wrapped BMW M3 and Audi S3 spotted at the Nurburgring
Ok, for the record, they aren’t officially-sanctioned police cruisers making a routine check at the Nurburgring.
But they sure look believable, don’t they?
A pair of vehicles – a BMW M3 Coupe and an Audi S3, to be exact – was recently spotted at the ‘Ring sporting some pretty intimidating police wraps. From what we’ve heard, these two cars are owned by civilians that are part of a group called the ‘Ring-Police’.
We don’t know a good deal about these guys, but judging from the website stickered on the two cars’ rear bumpers, it looks the Ring-Police is a group of custom tuners that have been getting quite the following in Germany.
