An interesting sculpture by RoboSteel will be getting unveiled at the 2010 MPH The Prestige & Performance Motor Show. This sculpture will be crafted from recycled steel and will be shaped to look like a unique supercar. The sculpture will be unveiled at Earls Court, London, between November 4th-7th, 2010 and at the NEC, Birmingham between November 11th-14th, 2010. At the end of the show the supercar sculpture will be auctioned off in order to raise money for charity.
The ‘alien-like’ supercar of the future will weigh more than 500kg and will be more than one meter tall. Built using thousands of individual parts, the sculpture took approximately750 hours to finish and will be shipped to the UK in four different pieces. When those pieces get to their destination, workers will have to reassemble the sculpture before it goes on display in Earls court.
“This is the first time we’ve used our design concept to create a supercar. The initial design for the car was created by our art designer Toonrama. The RoboSteel concept supercar is based on the complex designs and structures of south Indian temples and the Kirtimukha sculptures that are positioned at the entrance to these temples. Dave Murphy from Dublin Ink has added an Alien theme to a second design drawing. RoboSteel will use both drawings to craft the Alien Supercar and we are really looking forward to this project.”

In 1970, Lamborghini developed a Jota test mule that would conform to the FIA’s Appendix J racing regulations. The car was appropriately named the Miura Jota. However, this was the only mule ever built until customers heard about it and asked for it. At their request, Lamborghini has decided to develop five units of the Lamborghini Jota: two were built new and three were converted from existing SVs.
One of these five unique models is now available for order and will be auctioned off at the RM Auctions’ Automobiles of London auction event on October 27th. This Jota was extensively restored by marque specialist Gary Bobileff, and is expected to fetch between £800,000-£1,100,000 GBP, or roughly $1,243,000-$1,709,000.
Aside from the rare Jota, RM Auctions will also be auctioning off the sole remaining documented 007 Aston Martin DB5 movie car, Sir Stirling Moss’s Grand Prix-winning four wheel-drive 1961 Ferguson P99 Formula One racer, and a stunning six-cylinder 1936 MG NB Magnette Airline Coupe.

Who remembers the Spice Girls? We know we do, but while most of the girls have gone on to live normal lives after the band, Posh Spice, also known as Victoria Beckham, has gone on to more glamorous things.
Over on that auctioning giant eBay, there is a new car for sale that once belonged to the wife of English football superstar David Beckham. The car is a TVR Cerbera that was built to the personal specifications of Mr. Beckham.
The English built sports car has been in dry storage as a part of a private collection for the last six years and wears the number VRM: W8 TVR. The body is covered in Crystal Topaz, which is a very rare pearlescent blue that was picked out by Victoria. The interior is covered in magnolia leather with Royal Blue Stitching.
Some of the options include a six-disc CD auto-changer, 18-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, privacy glass and an ice detector. Under the hood is a 4.5-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 380 pound feet of torque. When pushed to the limit, the car can hit 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds and on to 195 mph.
So, hop on over to eBay to place your bid on this very precious ride.

Chances are, you will never fly to the moon or become a billionaire. An even more unlikely scenario is to see an original Ferrari 250 GTO Evocazione up for sale. To say the occurrence has a once in a blue moon chance is a bit of an understatement. That being said, get your checkbooks out and get ready to write down a number well into the 8-figures – but not yet.
The car up for sale is not a real 250 GTO Evocazione. Although the car is a real Ferrari, it started its life as a much more modest 330 GT. The owner then decided to mod the car to resemble a 250 GTO. And not just any GTO, the only right hand drive 4-liter V-12 model Ferrari made to compete at Le Mans.
The fact of the matter is that, although you are not getting a real 250 GTO, the replica is sure to make you just as happy as the real thing. Once in a lifetime will you ever see a real 250 GTO Evocazione up for sale, so for an astronomically lower price, you have the opportunity to own a piece of racing history.
The Ferrari 250 GTO Evocazione replica is expected to fetch $377,000 – a far cry from the $18 million of the original – on September 25th at the Historics at Brooklands in England.

Next Friday at Monterey, RM Auctions will be offering a stunning 2006 Spyker C8 Spyder for auction. The car is expected to be sold for a price between $150,000 to $200,000. It has less than 400 miles on its odometer.
The Spyker C8 Spyder is powered by a 400 bhp, 4,172 cc, mid-rear mounted Audi V8 engine with aluminum block and heads, dual overhead camshafts, five valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, and electronic sequential-port fuel injection. The engine is mated to a Getrag six-speed manual gearbox in rear transaxle and a four-wheel independent suspension. It only weighs 2,750lbs which makes for an astounding power to weight ratio. The 0-60mph sprint is made in just 4.4 seconds. The C8 Spyder also features fuselage-type styling, rear “cannon-port” vents, a prominent wide grille intake, a propeller-inspired steering wheel, an engine-turned dash insert, and more.
The limited-production C8 Spyder is a hand-made convertible sports car with room for two. It is finished in Metallic Blue with a tan leather interior and comes from a large private automobile collection.
If anyone is interested then we suggest they head on over to Monterey before this beauty gets snatched up by someone else.

The British auto manufacturer Aston Martin is notorious for creating some of the most elegant and luxurious cars on the supercar market. What makes them stand apart is that they do so without taking away from any of the brute force of an agile hyper-car. However, when we see a car like the bulky, awkward looking 1996 “Sportsman” Shooting Brake, we wonder how all of that finesse got lost in in this particular translation.
With styling similar to the V8 Le Mans, the Shooting Brake is an entirely hand built 2-door hatchback. What makes it even more special is the fact that only two were ever built. Normally, we wouldn’t discuss automobiles such as this unless they were miraculously thrown back into the loop so you can guess that this one has gone back into circulation. The Shooting Brake is up for auction at Bonhams’ sale of Fine Motor Cars and Automobilia at the ’Weekend de l’Excellence Automobile on September 11th. Due to its rarity, the car is expected to fetch upwards of $650,000; as much as a couple of 599s.
We’ll let you decide if you want a hatchback over a couple monstrou, red Ferraris. Other Astons up for sale are a 1965 DB5 Vantage (one of which went for $830K at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed), a 1957 DB2/4 MKII Drophead Coupe, and a 1986 Volante.

RM Auctions, the world’s largest collector car auction house, kick starts its annual Sports & Classics of Monterey sale on August 12th with a special evening auction devoted exclusively to “the company that put the world on wheels”: the Ford Motor Company. The cars listed for auction start with a 1903 Ford Model A Rear-Entry Tonneau and go up to a 2004 Ford Mustang GT-R Concept.
The GT-R Concept was unveiled at the April 2004 New York International Auto Show, this example was built as a tribute to 40 years of Mustang performance. RM Auction announced an estimated selling price between $250,000 – $350,000.
The concept is powered by Ford’s OHC modular V8 engine that develops a total of 440 HP and is mated to a TTC T-56 six-speed transmission. It comes painted in a bright Valencia Orange paint inspired by the Grabber Orange hue of the 1970 Boss 302 Trans Am cars.

Back in 2006, this Chevrolet Corvette Z06-based Genaddi LSR Roadster captured our hearts and imaginations at the 2006 SEMA auto show, thinking that the chances of owning a piece of that sports car would be best left in our dreams.
Four years later, that dream just may become a reality for one lucky – and rich – fella, because the one-off sports car is now being auctioned of on eBay Motors. Give yourselves a few seconds to digest that information…before we say it again: the Corvette Z06-based Genaddi LSR Roadster – the only one in the world – is listed on eBay.
The car, of course, is a completely road-legal sports car that’s powered by a Z06 engine that produces somewhere around 545 horsepower. It also has a customized body panel that’s mostly made from aluminum, which GDG intentionally adopted in favor of the Corvette’s original composite and carbon fiber panels.
To make things a little more interesting for all of the interested parties, this one-off machine only has 2,454 miles on the odometer and goes for a price of $175,000.
Not too shabby for a limited-run, one-off piece of machine, right?

The classic Shelby GT350 should definitely be every car lover’s dream. The bad news is not every Shelby lover will get the chance to own such a marvel of a car. The good news is that one very lucky person will have the honor of owning a unique 1965 Shelby GT350 Prototype (the basis for the famed “Eleanor” movie car) as the car will be on auction at Mecum’s Monterey auction during the Pebble Beach Concours.
This particular Shelby was originally shipped to Shelby American on May 22, 1965. It was then completed as a GT350 on May 25 and started its life as a prototype driver for Shelby American. The first threee models years were spent as a prototype driver and the vehicle was then sold off to Shelby’s Hi-Performance Motors in El Segundo, California on May 11, 1967.
The car on auction is equipped with rear quarter windows, side scoops, 1966 Shelby stripes, Shelby/Crager 15″ Black accent wheels, 1966 underride traction bars, 1965 override brackets, prototype carpeted rear shelf (’66), 1967 Shelby GT350 wood steering wheel, very rare ’66 Mustang AM 8-track stereo and door speakers, very rare Cobra badge on the glove compartment. Also it is the only known pre 1967 Shelby GT350 with a factory rear spoiler, authenticated by SAAC.
So anyone want a piece of Shelby history? Better start saving up to bid on this magnificent piece of machinery. The Pebble Beach Concours is August 13-14, 2010, but the Shelby GT350 will be sold on Saturday, August 14th at 2:30pm.

How’s this for awkward?
A customized Audi S5 Coupe popped up on eBay recently with a host of upgrades making it a pretty desirable ride, even at a price of just over $61,000 – it’s $61,465 in case you’re as interested as we are.
Now, in spite of all the tunings this particular S5 Coupe received, what really struck us was what color it came in, or rather what the color description was used to name it.
“Porsche Lime Green?”
If that’s not an ode to one of Audi’s fiercest competitors, I don’t know what is. Apparently, the owner of this S5 personally ordered this paint finish at a price of $2,500 and, while we think that the color isn’t that particularly bad, the lime green exterior/orange interior combination doesn’t catch our eye the way it’s supposed to. And using a paint finish named after a competitor certainly doesn’t cast a vote of confidence from us.
But hey, to each his own, right? After all, colors – and the subsequent names of these colors – notwithstanding, this tuned-up Audi S5 Coupe is still one fine piece of road machinery.

Yesterday we reported that a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage Convertible was auctioned for $830.000 and today we are pleased to announce that an even more exclusive 1966 Aston Martin DB6 will be available for auction in Monterey on August 13, 2010.
The Aston Martin DB6 was based off the DB5, but had a larger and more accommodating Grand Touring drive. For some, like legendary crooner Bing Crosby, this was an ideal car to drive around in. In fact, Crosby was the original owner of this exclusive vehicle. The silver gray coupe is powered by a 4 liter OHC straight 6 engine producing 282hp which was made by AM.
The coupe is in excellent condition and still has all of the original interior and original cheery wood steering wheel. The DB6 did receive new paint and chrome about five years ago. It has also received new wheels, tires, and a new brake system.

In July 1963 Aston Martin unveiled the DB5. The convertible version was limited to only 23 units, but only nine of them featured the more powerful Vantage engine which was a 282bhp engine mated to a four-speed/overdrive gearbox. One of these fantastic automobiles was auctioned during this past weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed for an impressive £551,500 (or $830,000 at the current exchange rates).
The Aston Martin wasn’t the only vehicle with a price tag to bid on at that auction. Other extravagant vehicles were sold and included a 1937 Bentley 41/4-Litre Drophead Coupe (which was featured in the 007 James Bond film ’Never Say Never Again’), a 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK230, and a 1976 Jensen Interceptor Series III Coupe. In total, the auction raised an impressive £3,707,687.
Group Head of Bonhams Motoring Department, James Knight, comments: "There was extraordinary strength of bidding in all areas of the market and we were exceptionally pleased to establish yet another world record Aston Martin price with the sale of the DB5 convertible."

Gooding & Company has announced that a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider Competizione will be available for auction at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August. The car is considered to be the most significant LWB California Spider ever built, so expect to see a very high price attached to this vehicle.
The California Spyder features a 508 D chassis, covered headlights, and the most powerful engine still fitted to a California Spider, a Tipo 168. These highlights are some of the main reasons this car has done so well in a number of events. It finished 5th overall at Sebring 12 Hours and has done well in the Bahamas Speed Week, many times with famous drivers including George Reed and Alan Connell behind the wheel.
The same auction will also feature a 1955 Maserati A6G/54 Berlinetta by Zagato, a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta SEFAC Hot Rod, and a 1971 Lamborghini Miura S that is being estimated at more than $600K. There will also be an auction by Mecum featuring a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Tour de France.

Yes, you read the title right; there is a 1914 Rolls Royce for sale, but this is not just any 1914 Rolls-Royce! This is a royal purple 1914 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost that just happened to belong to Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia. Interested? The car is available for sale in Germany at a price of 5.5 million euro (or around $6.7 million at the current exchange rates).
This vehicle was built as a special order from the War Department in Russia in 1917 and then transferred to the Tsar. After the murder of the imperial family, the Rolls Royce "experienced" an adventurous life, traveling through half the world, including doing a stint in a car museum where it was displayed next to Adolf Hitler’s Mercedes. Finally the car was bought by a car collector in Germany and was hidden from curious eyes!
The Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost was produced from 1906 to 1925, with 6,173 units produced. It was powered by a 7428cc six-cylinder engine that delivered a total of 48 HP at 1200 rpm and was mated to a three-speed gearbox. The car was capable of a top speed of 24 mph.

The legitimately chic and overwhelmingly pink Audi A1 Art Car was auctioned off at Elton John’s White Tie & Tiara Ball earlier this week for a staggering price of £350,000. That’s about $522,500, in case you need more time to compute the exchange rate.
The half-a-million price tag is significantly more expensive than the retail price of a standard A1, but seeing as this one was specially painted by renowned British artist Damien Hirst and that proceeds from the sale of the car would go to the Elton john AIDS Foundation, then the whopping bid price doesn’t sound as ridiculous as it could have been given other circumstances.
As one of the foremost supporters and one of the event’s longstanding partners, Audi personally donated the pink Audi A1 Art Car to the event as a special auction piece that both parties would hope could fetch somewhere in the bottom six digits. Turns out it sold far more than that.

While everyone is waiting for the next generation Toyota MR2, a guy decided to turn his into a Gumpert Apollo. We’ve seen lots of replicas, but this one is one of the strangest ones!
This is a one-of-a-kind (thank God!) concept, featuring a Toyota MR2 frame along with the modern conveniences of airbags, power windows, power locks, air conditioning, exhaust, and suspension.
Of course, you guessed it, under the hood there is nothing compared to the Audi-sourced 4.2-liter, twin-turbo V8 with 650HP from the Apollo! Instead the owner used a four-cylinder turbo engine, dynoded at 255 whp at 15 psi and 303 whp at around 19 psi. The car meets all regulations and is extremely economical in term of gasoline.
The interior combines black suede leather with red piping and Racing Sparco seats with Racing Harnesses - also in a combination of black and red.
The car is for sale on eBay with a current bid of $12,100.

Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara charity ball, which is scheduled to take place on June 24, will have a special guest invited in the form of a special edition Audi A1 that was donated by no less than Audi, one of the event’s principal supporters.
The charity ball is a yearly event organized by the British singing icon himself in an effort to help raise awareness and money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Together with his life partner, David Furnish, John has been one of the more proactive voices among all celebrities in the fight against AIDS.
For their part, Audi has been a long-standing partner of the charity ball and this year, they’re giving John a very unique Audi A1 Art Car - designed by British artist, Damien Hirst - that will be auctioned off during the event.
Naturally, both Elton John and David Furnish were elated by Audi’s generous gift. ""Audi has been a wonderful partner with us, and this year they have really produced something fantastic," Furnish said. "I am sure it will be a huge hit with our guests."
Audi UK Director Jeremy Hicks also had this to say: "We are enormously proud to support Sir Elton John’s remarkable fundraising ball for the eighth year in succession with the donation of a priceless and unrepeatable work of art for auction."

We don’t know if any of you have $3 million rolled up in your pockets - we don’t, in case you were wondering about our finances - but in the event that you do, here’s something that you would find good use for in all that moolah.
We just found out that one of the first - and therefore, more famous than most of its brethren - McLaren F1 GTRs is now being auctioned for, you guessed it, € 2 – 2.5 million, or somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 million.
This particular vehicle is historical for being labeled as ’Chassis #5’ and was originally purchased by one French racer Jean-Luc Maury-Laribiére. Jean-Luc used it during the 24 Hours of Le Mans back in 1994 and a year later, commissioned world-famous French sculptor and painter César to turn the F1 GTR into Maury-Laribiére’s very own supercar art car.
Now, it looks like Mr. French racer is ready to part with his baby and has turned to Artcurial Motors to help him auction off his multi-million dollar car at the Le Mans Classic event on July 9.
So there you have it. Interested? If you are, then you better be ready to put a dent in your bank account.
