OK, now this is totally unfair. The Aston Martin One-77 is limited to only 77 units, but when only one customer gets 10 of them, it makes it impossible to have a chance to buy one. Not that we had that chance. Of course the buyer is from Middle East (where else!) and apparently he bought the cars for “The Family.”

When the customer made his demand (10 cars delivered by September), you can imagine that the guys from Aston Martin said this might be impossible. But a cheque of $23,000,000 made it more than possible (as a refresher an One-77 costs $1,4 million).

Oh, and apparently there’s more. There is another guy who asked for two One-77: one to drive and one to hang on the wall as a piece of art.

Amidst all the hoopla surrounding the release of other supercars recently – among them the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the Ferrari 458 Italia, and the Lexus LF-A – one soon-to-be-released limited run supercar has been inexplicably left in the backburner.

Not anymore.

The Aston Martin One-77 recently went on a test run to gauge the top speed of the car and the results have been nothing short of jaw-dropping. The One-77 supercar recorded a speed of 220.007 mph, which if you’re keeping track, is the fastest any car Aston Martin has ever produced.

The previous record-holder was the Aston Martin Vanquish with a time of just a shade over 200 mph, which, needless to say the One-77 easily vanquished, no pun intended.

For most of us, the closest sniff we can ever have of the new Aston Martin One-77 will be in one of those high-end glossy car magazines. Maybe we can catch a video here or there of the One-77 in action.

Things like this already makes our day because we know that we have neither the resources nor wherewithal to even come a mile of driving one home. So, as you can expect, this new video released by Aston Martin showing the ultra-exclusive super car testing on a race track brings us much joy because it’s about as close as we can get to watch one in action.
